Disappointment and frustration describe just a few of the responses one might choose to the scenarios outlined above. But, at the same time, can you also find something to be grateful for?
In the pages of When I Am Grateful are inspirational anecdotes that bring humor, insight and touching poignancy together with a new outlook to consider. Drawing from the wisdom of her own life --- expressed with a universal viewpoint --- the author, Kaye George, brings readers scenarios to enjoy, learn from, and smile about when looking at the challenges of everyday life.
Some scenarios are serious, some are humorous. Some reflect on the struggles of maintaining relationships, others reflect on the struggles with the ever changing world. In response to these scenarios, the author points out how one can be grateful for the many blessings that surround us even amidst what can seem to be the worst, darkest days of our lives.
The first-time author says she considers herself “extraordinarily ordinary. Like many women my age of the 'Sandwich Generation,' I struggle with maintaining a balance in life. I have a “half-full” perspective most of the time. Living in a free and democratic society, we have a myriad of opportunities so that when challenges approach, we can also find something to be grateful for.”
Kaye George currently resides in Barrington, Illinois and has been a resident of Chicagoland suburbia her entire life. A graduate of Northern Illinois University in the late '70s, Ms. George worked as a medical technologist for several years. While caring for her two young children in the '80s she obtained her Masters Degree in Biology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She also received an MBA from DePaul University in 2004. For the past 20 years Kaye has worked with a Fortune 500 company that provides healthcare services. She currently holds the position of a Six Sigma Black Belt working on streamlining medical billing processes.
During her leisure time Ms. George enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, crafts and home decorating. When I Am Grateful is her first published book.
